La estrella colombiana de "Modern Family" recibió su tercera candidatura a mejor actriz de reparto por su interpretación de Gloria Delgado-Pritchett en la popular serie de ABC, que además se impuso como la serie cómica con mayor número de nominaciones, con 14.
"Mad Men", un retrato profundamente crudo de un antihéroe estadounidense en los años 60, encabezó la lista de nominados a series de drama con 17 candidaturas, obteniendo la oportunidad de marcar un nuevo récord como el drama más galardonado en la historia de la televisión.
La miniserie "American Horror Story", una saga de pesadilla sobre una casa embrujada, también fue postulada a 17 premios, incluyendo a mejor actriz para su estrella Connie Britton.
La novela "Downton Abbey" consiguió 16 candidaturas, y las miniseries "Hatfields & McCoys" y "Hemingway & Gellhorn" 16 y 15, respectivamente.
Las nominaciones en las principales categorías fueron anunciadas por Kerry Washington de "Scandal" y Jimmy Kimmel, quien fungirá como anfitrión de la ceremonia de premiación el 23 de septiembre.
